Chris Gogerly keeps the music low and the conversation easy. It's solo guitar with no vocals, laid-back Latin and jazz, backed by a small PA, a drum machine and a looper pedal. A one-hour booking is two 25-minute sets, and two hours gets you two sets of 45. Expect Girl from Ipanema, Corcovado and Agua de Beber, a couple of Gypsy Kings pieces, Take Five, Autumn Leaves, Oye Como Va and Bésame Mucho, plus a few Bob Marley songs, Dance Monkey and Chris's own Merimbula Bossa. That sound suits a garden party, a cafe, a restaurant or a dinner at home. Outdoors, a power point and overhead cover are needed, and battery power can be arranged. Melbourne-based, travels up to 200 km, and keeps public liability insurance current.
