Captain K digs through the records most DJs skip. Her sets lean on the late 70s and early 80s: disco, boogie and funk, rare soul, afrobeat, yacht rock and Japanese city pop, many of them tracks your guests won't have heard in years, if ever. There's a warm, nostalgic feel to it that suits a crowd who likes a groove more than a drop. She belongs to two Sydney collectives, Queen Bee and the crew behind Sydney Soul Weekender, and has held residencies at Tucano's, Rekodo and Roosevelt. Bring her in for a cocktail bar night, a retro-themed party or a dance floor with good taste.
