About
Capt. Rod Lovell is a motivational speaker based in Victor Harbor, SA.
In 1994 Captain Rod Lovell was flying a DC-3 charter out of Sydney when an engine failed on take-off. Forty-six seconds later he put the aircraft down in the water, and all 25 people on board survived. What followed is the other half of his talk: his pilot's licence was suspended, and he has spent the 30 years since writing a book and fighting to clear his name. It's a story about doing your job well and paying for it, the kind an after-dinner audience keeps talking about. He has told it on Weekend Sunrise. His talk usually runs about 45 minutes and takes questions afterwards. He brings his slides on USB, a laser pointer and a laptop, and asks for a screen and projector. Copies of his book, From Hero To Zero, can be sold on the night with your OK. Based in Victor Harbor, he travels nationwide.
