Bushland Boogie is a bush band based in Brisbane, QLD.
Maggie calls the dances for Bushland Boogie, so even guests who swear they can't dance end up on the floor. A typical night mixes traditional bush dances like the barn dance, waltz and gipsy tap with party favourites such as Nutbush, the Mexican Hat, the Hokey Pokey and the Chicken Dance, which the kids always love, plus a bit of rock 'n' roll. In between, the Brisbane band plays Australiana, classic Oz rock from Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel, Men at Work, Shane Howard and Slim Dusty, and country covers from John Denver, the Eagles, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell and Anne Murray. They perform as a duo or trio, on stage or roving. Bush dances, Aussie-themed parties, schools, Christmas parties, fundraisers, retirement villages and weddings all suit them.
