Gritty groove underneath, soft layered vocals on top. Bübook play neo-soul that the band itself calls future soul, hypnotic and textured, with more interest in mood than volume. Zoe Davis sings, Blake Cox is on drums, Ori Raz plays bass and Preston Walker is on keys. The four-piece comes from the Central Coast, on Darkinjung Country. Their sound makes them a good pick for a dim lounge, an art opening or a dinner where the music should hold people's attention without taking over the conversation.
