The Dave Brubeck Story is part concert, part storytelling. Brendan Fitzgerald sits at the piano and tells the life of the great cool jazz pianist between tunes, while a visual montage plays behind the band, now blended with live vision of the players on stage. The quartet plays the classic Brubeck Quartet material, Take Five included, faithfully but with its own touch. Brendan is on piano, Andy Firth on alto sax and clarinet, Quentin Dunne on double bass and Satomi Ohnishi on percussion, and Peter Raidel, an Adelaide sax player, covers whenever Andy can't make it. It suits a concert hall, a theatre or a jazz-minded audience. In 2015 the show ran four nights at the Adelaide Fringe in Brighton Concert Hall, plus dates at The Basement in Sydney, Sutherland Entertainment Centre and Melbourne's Clock Tower Centre.
