Blues Collective

Swamp blues and Chicago blues, in the band's own arrangements, make up the whole of a Blues Collective set. Expect songs by Muddy Waters, JJ Cale, Etta James, Freddie King, Tony Joe White, Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, BB King, Taj Mahal, Jimmy Reed, Solomon Burke and Elmore James. Angela McCloy sings, and Chris Martin Murphy shares vocals while playing guitar and harmonica. Ian Chisholm plays bass, Marty Davison is on saxophone and Bruce Stephens drums. Chris and Ian co-founded the Rozelle band, which launched in June 2015. The Sydney Blues Society has recognised several of them: Angela and Marty were award finalists in 2024, and Chris was nominated for harmonica in 2025. It's the right booking for a bar night or a party where the music matters more than the chart hits.
