Blue Dip

Blue Dip started as two guitarists from Sydney's north, then added Haley on vocals and became a trio. Don't expect a wall of chart hits. Their set is bluesy and soulful, pulling from John Mayer, Faith No More, Dave Matthews and The Allman Brothers, though they'll play Wonderwall if you insist. An afternoon booking can stay soothing, while an evening turns into rock, rhythm and blues. They usually play three sets of 45 to 60 minutes and bring all their own gear. The whole band fits under a 3 x 3 metre cover, so a carport, an awning or a shed works fine, as long as there are two power points. A backyard barbecue or a laid-back wedding suits them well, and Pymble is home base, with travel up to 100 km.
