Blax

Tall, spindly and a little unsettling, the Blax characters stalk through a crowd on stilts like insects from somewhere else. They don't talk. Instead they communicate with gaunt poses, odd shapes and long, piercing stares, and part of the fun is guests trying to work out where they've come from. It's a roving act, so the characters move through the room, stopping with each group of guests instead of holding a stage. Most bookings are as a duo, though a single character works too, and so does a bigger group of up to five. They can also hold a seated crowd for a short set. In Seoul they held the room at an Audi launch with a five-minute piece for seated guests, and a sister show, Jack'n'Jack, has worked a race-day grandstand in Mumbai for 20 minutes. The group works out of Brisbane.
