Big Toy is a cover band based in Sydney, NSW.
Big Toy is a showband with a lot of moving parts: a three-piece rhythm section, as many as six horns and two flamboyant characters out front. Nine players is the usual size, though the line-up can drop to four or stretch to thirteen. Musically they range from Cherry Poppin' Daddies swing and Lenny Kravitz rock to Anastacia dance mixes and Macy Gray soul, and the show is designed to get people on their feet from the first song. The Sydney band has been playing since 1997, much of it at corporate events. Their venue list takes in Luna Park, Fox Studios, the Sydney Superdome, the Hordern Pavilion, Ayers Rock Resort, Stadium Australia, the Darling Harbour Convention Centre, Star City Casino and the Australian National Maritime Museum. They've also appeared on corporate bills beside Christine Anu, Jon Stevens, Jimmy Barnes and John Paul Young.
