Ben Stewart plays the kind of acoustic set a bar crowd drifts towards, drawing on popular songs from the last 50 years. Paul Kelly can sit right beside Noah Kahan, and Cold Chisel beside Ed Sheeran. Amy Winehouse, The Killers, Pearl Jam, Oasis and Sonia Dada are in there too, along with The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons, Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Cougar. For over a decade he's taken that list to weddings, bars and events in Brisbane and up and down the coast either side of it. With a list that wide, a room of mixed tastes will always find something it knows.
