Beatnik Empire

Beatnik Empire is a Brisbane four-piece covers band, and it began back in 2015 as a side project between two friends. Matt Collingwood sings and plays acoustic guitar, and Pete Boase plays bass. Later they brought in Richard Savage on drums and Wayne Smith on lead guitar, and that fuller line-up gave the band a much bigger sound. So what you get now is a proper rock band set-up, two guitars over bass and drums, rather than an acoustic duo. Two guitars and a full kit carry well in a pub, a big backyard or a function room where people want a live band to dance to.
