Animal Ventura

Funky South American grooves meet the laid-back indie folk of the Australian coast in Animal Ventura, the project of singer-songwriter Fernando Aragones. He was born in Brazil and now lives around Byron Bay, and the music carries both of those homes. His voice is calm and warm, it moves between English and Portuguese, and it carries real strength when a song asks for it. Because it's an original sound, it suits a relaxed afternoon gathering or a venue whose regulars would rather discover a new songwriter than hear the usual covers.
