Andrew Ellis

Percussive fingerstyle is the heart of Andrew Ellis's playing: melody, bass and a beat tapped out on the body of the guitar, all at the same time. Most of it is instrumental, with light vocals if you ask, and it works as quiet background over drinks or as the main feature everyone stops for. Original pieces from his two EPs share the set with acoustic takes on Nirvana, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bon Jovi and Tommy Emmanuel, and he'll arrange a custom piece for a wedding moment. You choose how long: a single 45-minute set, two of them, or three. His own PA handles up to 150 guests, and he needs a 2 by 2 metre space, power within 10 metres and shelter if you're outdoors. A guitar Q&A or a workshop can be added. Based in Willetton, he travels nationwide.
