One man, several instruments: Andrew Brassett plays guitar, bass and foot-operated percussion at the same time, and sings over the top. The sound is alt-roots, with the guitar played percussively so the rhythm drives each song. His voice covers a lot of ground, from a smooth falsetto to a deep blues growl, and the singing is honest rather than showy. A one-man band gives you a fuller sound than a lone singer usually brings, so he's worth considering when you want the music itself to hold people's attention in a smaller room. He's based in Cairns.
