Allan Border

Leading Australia to the 1987 World Cup and winning back the Ashes in 1989 are the headline moments of Allan Border's captaincy, and they give a leadership session or a sports dinner plenty to draw on. As a player he made runs consistently over a long career and bowled some left-arm when it was needed. He stayed in the game after his international days ended, playing domestic cricket, coaching and taking on selection roles. He's based in Queensland.
